July 2025 Praises & Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer at the DeSoto County Dream Center! Will you join with us on behalf of our community and organization to petition the Father for these prayer requests?

Praises:

  • Praise for funding for a new program providing healthy produce with nutrition and health education for those suffering chronic illness designed to positively impact their health and wellness.

  • Only six students in the Elementary Education Program needed summer tutoring this year!

  • We saw 47% of students improve an average of 3.8 points in Language Arts and 68% improved an average of 6.8 points in Math by the end of the school year.

Prayer Requests:

Healthcare Pillar

  • Pray for our patients who have cancer. Trinity Health staff have recently seen an uptick in cancer diagnoses. Pray for treatment and healing

  • Pray that God continues to open doors for Trinity Health so we are able to provide care for more of our community.

Education Pillar

  • Pray for a high school student in our Education program whose cousin was recently murdered. Pray for comfort for the whole family as they grieve this tragic loss.

  • Pray for the incoming group of students for Elementary and Leadership programming as they get ready to start school in the fall.

  • Pray that DCDC staff would continue to strengthen relationships with students and families after they recently spent time interviewing parents of children entering the Education Program, and listening to how we can support families throughout the year.

Food & Clothing Pillars

  • Pray the Lord would raise up volunteers and donors to host food drives and provide food and cash contributions in order to help restock the emergency food closet. Donations tend to dip during summer months and there have been a steady flow of neighbors in need.

  • Pray for partnership opportunities so that we are able to secure regular fresh produce to share through our Emergency Needs Closet and Adopt-A-Block outreaches.
